Services & Fees

Our clients seek treatment and support for a wide range of reasons. We’ve listed a range of the most common services we provide based off our clinicians' current qualifications, competence, and areas of interest.

Enhancing performance

This can include executive coaching, leadership development, and understanding psychological aspects of elite sports performance.

Building insight and exploration of self

This can include exploration of your character structure and attachment, understanding your psychological defence system and the way you engage in the world.

Issues regarding relationships

This can include conflict management, emotional distancing, exploration of sexual flourishing, exploration of new relational dynamics (e.g., ethical non-monogamy, polyamory, swinging, BDSM or kink).

Treatment and management of chronic health conditions or differences

This can include specific pain disorders such chronic pain or vaginismus, as well as help navigating the world because of neurodivergence (e.g., Autism, ADHD).

Treatment of other problematic non-diagnosable conditions

This can include low self-esteem, poor self-image, passivity, aggression, and other issues of emotional dysregulation.

Treatment of mental health conditions

This can include depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders (e.g., borderline personality disorder), eating disorders, and sexual disorders.

Fee structure

Clinical psychologist fees

  • Individual psychological treatment is $235 per 50-minute session before eligible rebates apply (e.g. there would be a $103.35 out of pocket cost with a Mental Health Care Plan).
  • After-hours (5pm onwards) and weekend appointments incur an additional $25 charge
  • Couples therapy is $260 per 50-minute session. There are no medicare rebates eligible for couples therapy.

NOTE: From 1st August 2023 individual appointments are $250 per 50-min session before eligible rebates. There would be a $113.65 out of pocket expense with a Mental Health Care Plan.

Registered psychologist fees

  • Individual psychological treatment is $205 per 50-minute session before eligible rebates apply (e.g. there would be a $115.35 out of pocket cost with a Mental Health Care Plan).
  • After-hours (5pm onwards) and weekend appointments incur an additional $25 charge
  • Couples therapy is $260 per 50-minute session. There are no medicare rebates eligible for couples therapy.

NOTE: From 1st August 2023 individual appointments are $215 per 50-min session before eligible rebates. There would be a $122.10 out of pocket expense with a Mental Health Care Plan.

Registered counsellor

  • Individual counselling session is $155 per 50-minute session.
  • Relationship or couples therapy (max 3 people) is $260 per 50-minute session.
  • Intensive/extended sessions are available for relational and couple therapy. Please contact reception to discuss fee structure for these types of appointments.
  • Counselling services are eligible for private health care rebates with: BUPA, Police Health Fund, Emergency Services Health Fund, Phoenix Health, St Lukes Health, GMHBA, CUA Health, Teachers Union Health, AIA and Westfund.

NOTE: From 1st August individual appointments are $165 per 50-min session.

Supervision

Daniel and Hilary are both Board-Approved supervisors and provide supervision in the areas of sexuality and sexual function to psychologists and those in helping professions.

Both Daniel and Hilary enjoy assisting professionals feel comfortable integrating sexual therapy principles into their practice, broaden their therapeutic skills regarding sexual function and deepen their understanding about sexuality and sexual-related issues.

Daniel and Hilary have capacity to provide supervision for provisional psychologists completing the 4+1 or 5+2 pathway as well as, those completing their Clinical Registrar program.

Fees

One-off or monthly professional supervision 50-min session - $250 inc GST

Ongoing professional supervision (weekly or fortnightly) 50 - min session - $200 inc GST

Fees for group supervision sessions are arranged on a case-by-case basis depending on the group size and frequency of supervision sessions.

The Australian Psychological Society currently recommends fees to be $280 per session.

You may be eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan Medicare rebate of $92.90 (Registered Psychologist) or $136.35 (Clinical Psychologist) per session (up to 10 sessions per calendar year) if you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or psychiatrist. *Rebates as of 1st July 2023

If you have Private Health Insurance you may be eligible to receive refunds for psychological services. Please phone your insurance provider to discuss your entitlements.

Connections Psychology also accepts referrals under Work Cover.

For those experiencing financial hardship or hold concession cards, we may be able to offer reduced rates and can discuss this with you as needed.

At times your therapist may need to administer questionnaires or assessments to inform your treatment plan/assessment process. These are purchased separately and will be added to your invoice. Your psychologist will discuss this with you should it be necessary.
